Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins is an American-Mexican sportscaster. Her current role is working as a sportscaster at ESPN and is an anchor of SportsCenter reports and hosts SportsNation. She began working for ESPN as a news anchor in 2016. She's the daughter of TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual from her age of nine. Her ability was crucial in helping her land her first position as producer assistant at Univision Miami in which she was a producer of programs including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. After this, she was hired by the CBS affiliate of St. Petersburg employed her as a sport reporter. Then she moved from St. Petersburg to Rio Grande Valley in 2009 to work as a reporter on the Spanish stations KNVO TV 48 Univision, as well as Fox2 News. In 2009 she made the move into Rio Grande Valley, Texas and became an editor for KNVO48 Univision as well as Fox2 News. The duties of anchoring on sports and weather was often asked for. She was then anchor and reporter for Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. In the following years, she was given more responsibility. She did pieces on Major League Baseball's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason as well as the Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. In addition, she hosted her own local Univision 23 sports show Accion Deportiva Extra. She worked as anchor for the sports segment of Despierta America Deportes morning show. Also, she was an anchor on sports on Primer Impacto, a magazine show on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collin's parents were originally from Veracruz Mexico. They eventually relocated into Mexico City where she was born on the 22nd of November, 1985. Her older sister is also hers. There is an older sibling. In 1992, her parents separated then shortly thereafter in 1995 she remarried Fabio Fajardo, naval engineer, who passed away in the year 2006 after suffering from kidney cancer. It was on a summer vacation that she stayed with her sibling living in Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl was offered a job. Antonietta was a senior in high school but she knew exactly what career path she wanted. When she was deciding whether Mount Union is the right choice for her, Antonietta visited the university. It was an amazing campus. They also offered her the program she was interested in. Her studies were completed and she was accepted into the University as a major in media studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor and also the head of WRMU in which she's a part. They formed a strong friendship. He was the one who boosted her confidence and whose passion in Journalism touched her deeply. In turn, she determined to meet his demands always delivering on time.
